Our Journey in Financial Analysis

Since 2019, we've been refining our approach to valuation techniques, building expertise through real market challenges and evolving client needs across Australia's financial landscape.

2019: Foundation & Learning

Started with traditional DCF models and basic comparable analysis. Those early months taught us that textbook formulas needed real-world adaptation. We learned by doing, making mistakes with small client projects, and understanding how Australian market conditions affected standard valuation approaches.

2021: Market Crisis Insights

The pandemic changed everything we thought we knew about risk assessment. Traditional multiples became unreliable overnight. We developed new frameworks for uncertainty, learned to weight qualitative factors more heavily, and created stress-testing protocols that actually reflected market volatility.

2023: Technology Integration

Invested heavily in data analytics tools and Monte Carlo simulation capabilities. But more importantly, we figured out how to explain complex probability scenarios to business owners in plain English. Technology enhanced our analysis, but human interpretation remained crucial.

2025: Comprehensive Framework

Today we combine quantitative rigor with practical business sense. Our process adapts to industry specifics, considers local market dynamics, and provides scenarios rather than single-point estimates. Each valuation tells a story that helps clients make informed decisions.

Harrison Blackwood, senior financial analyst and valuation specialist

Meet Harrison Blackwood

Harrison leads our valuation training programs and brings fifteen years of hands-on experience in financial analysis across mining, agriculture, and technology sectors throughout Australia and New Zealand.

His approach focuses on practical application rather than theoretical perfection. "I've seen too many analysts get lost in complex models when a simpler approach would serve their clients better," Harrison explains. "We teach you to match your methodology to the business reality."

Harrison holds a CFA designation and previously worked with mid-tier advisory firms in Brisbane and Sydney. He started our training programs after repeatedly encountering junior analysts who could build impressive spreadsheets but struggled to interpret results meaningfully.
